Instead of stressing and worrying about the increasing strength or restraint of air environmental regulations, position oneself on the side of caution; Invest in technology that environmental regulatory agencies (i.e. EPA, TCEQ, ODEQ) prefer, as seen by reviewing the progressively lessening regulatory restraints on VRUs. When a sales line is available, it makes economic sense to utilize a Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) in order to profit from controlling emissions, rather than wasting an energy source by burning the vapor via a flare. OTA is aware of the price or bottom line concerns of VRUs. Certain applications call for the “Cadillac” of VRUs, others simply want a unit that turns off and on when hydrocarbon vapors are present. OTA designs its units to customer specifications, that way everybody gets what they want with the insurance that each unit is built with the same precision and care no matter the price. The new package lineup offers the client a basic functioning unit and the opportunity to customize because OTA understands that some operators are looking for simplicity. Keep in mind that the same custom quality remains with any unit option, no matter how basic the unit is.

The VRU or wellhead compressor will always come with our standard skid with drip pan and ecology rail to prevent contamination of storm water and water tables. The ecology rail will also prevent wildlife from falling into or otherwise accessing pooled up potentially harmful liquids. The units will also come with our proprietary KS40 reciprocating compressor without all of the drawbacks of this type of compressor. The KS40 is superior to competition in many ways because it easily evacuates liquids, provides ergonomic field maintenance, recaptures crankcase venting to be moved into the sales line, increased life expectancy of 30K+ hours, and operates quietly in the field.

Coded vs. Non-Coded Vessels –  A coded vessel is one in which has been manufactured to code, passing rigorous safety tests and satisfying extensive record keeping guidelines.

Control panel – Each unit needs a controller, but there are several options available. All of our controllers will run the unit and allow it to do its basic functions. What separates them are the “bells and whistles” that you prefer.

Auto Dump System  –  Without auto dump, field technicians might have to visit a unit multiple times to ensure the unit dumps and does not go down on high liquid level fault. An auto dump system will free up this labor and save you money.

Class I Div I/II – Built to OSHA’s and National Electric Codes  which is based on the type, condition, and nature of the environment. All units are built to Class I hazardous environments with the option of a Division I or II.

Aftercooler – cools the discharge gas before entering the sales line. An advantage in setups where the sales line is close to the unit is that it will cool the gas enough to be under the midstream company’s temperature requirement for sales gas.
